I had submitted a price match form to John Lewis for a Samsung TV I wanted to buy The price comparison was Richer Sounds who were selling the TV at £599 95 as opposed to £649 99 from JL.
I have now received confirmation that they will do the price match. I have now gone on to the JL web site and they are selling the TV at £599 today.
I want to order it but want to ask about the installation I would need this as I would not be able to do it myself It needs to link to Blu Ray player a video recorder and of course to Internet. The cost for this is £55 but for me it is essential I did look online as to whether there was a firm in my locality but only see Aerial installers. I had not heard of Richer Sounds but my Son who lives in Ireland He is a classical musician and he says RS are a very good company and he has bought all his hi fi etc equipment as he would want to listen to sound etc. This would confirm what those of you who use RS have said.
I have not ordered it as yet as I had to chase JL up for a response this am. I no longer need the price match which is better than having to claim it back
Thanks for all your advice Any final thoughts before I place my order.

Sorry another question Do I need to buy any cables for the TV and where should I buy them from ?
My TV in the living room is going into a bedroom but the blu ray player will stay where it is. Again thanks

How does the BR currently connect to the TV? If it is via HDMI cable (most likely) then you can use the existing cable with the new TV. :)

Thank you for your information. I note that there are 2 HDMI cables plugged in and I note there is another one at the side of the TV My son bought me an HD Ditiatal TV Recorder I image that I won't need this for the new TV as it is a smart one. Going to put the current tv into my bedroom 32" new one 40" Not sure if I will have the room to put thhis recorder in the bedroom I don't want to change what I have my TV sitting on. I have painted furniture in the bedroom and the TV sits on a large blanket box. Does the Player need to go below the TV or can it be sited elsewhere like a table to the side ? If not then I can live with that I would not want to wall mount the TV either.
    Thanks again Sue

Unless your new tv states it has a built in recorder, you will still need this to record and playback recorded programs. The blue ray player can go wherever the cable will reach, or further with a longer cable.
It needs to link to Blu Ray player a video recorder and of course to Internet.
Do you still use the video recorder?.
