Someone Retweeting my Retweets!

Options
Someone keeps retweeting my retweets. Someone told me that this invalidates my entry but someone else told me that it doesn't and that it will show as them retweeting the original retweet.

I'm not sure which is right.

Can someone help me please? :D

    I can't think of any reason it would invalidate yours.

    Have you tried explaining to the user that they need to RT the original, LM? x

    It happens to me too. I cannot be entirely sure, but I always think to myself that it does not matter. Some competitions have terms and competitions that say only one entry is permitted, but I think that this means that they don't want you to do loads of copy and paste retweets. I don't think that they would disqualify you because someone else retweets your retweet, although I am sure that other people will have differing opinions.

    Most people that host competitions on twitter would want exposure to a wide number of people, so I would have thought that they would be pleased to see that your followers have taken notice of their tweets.

    It depends how you enter on twitter, if you are retweeting the original competition tweets then if they retweet yours then it retweets the original and you're both entered. The company can't see that they have RT'd your RT of their tweet if that makes sense?

    If you're a copy & paste tweeter then yes them retweeting it will invalidate your entry for certain competitions

    You can get disqualified and people have over the past years from it happening.

    I think this must be a new thing on twitter;

    I was a bit confused at first as well, I think it just means that you retweeted it and the person who RTed it saw it on their timeline or visited your page and RTed it, Can't see ANY reason why it would disqualify you or them, don't see how a company would know or even if they did why :)
    In 2015 I WILL win; An ITV comp, The Gadget Show, an iPhone (or any smart phone, I'd be happy), a watch and an Xbox one!

    It has been around for a bit now. I first noticed it back in June 2013 and posted about it here:

    I've got to say I barely look at it! I get retweeted often by people and favourited etc. but I just carry on comping and am still winning about 1 a week on average on twitter

    I think it may be folks new to comping. I used to RT other folks Tweets, until I looked into it all a bit more.
  • I re-tweeted a post the other day for a comp, my friend then re-tweeted my re-tweet and I ended up winning the comp. it can't possibly invalidate your entry
