New twitter notifications

I was interested to find out that (depending on how you have your twitter notifications set) that you now get an email to tell you if someone has retweeted one of your retweets.

If, like me, you are curious and want to check your settings, you need to click on the little cog icon, then 'settings', then 'email notifications'.

I shall be curious to see if my retweets are retweeted by people that don't even follow me.

I get the odd one - normally people I follow & who follow back
I also get loads of "get more followers now" type replies usually from people with no followers!!!

I am not sure if I really made myself clear. The new notifications are people clicking retweet on my timeline, but not retweeting a copy and paste I have done, but retweeting the original persons tweet that I have retweeted, if that makes sense.

I had one of those the other day. A company tweet that I clicked 'retweet' to. The email said MY tweet was retweeted...strange..

I've done quite a few since but not had any notifications. I'm wondering if twitter was just having a funny 5 minutes..

The only retweet notification you should get is if someone retweets a tweet that you have done from your own profile.

If you retweet someones tweet of the original post As in Mrs Thingy retweeted Ebays post. If you reply you now reply to both Mrs thingy and ebay!

People have also favourited my tweets now! Crazy! x

Not any longer. They have changed it. If you check your settings now, they have changed what they notify you of. You can set it to either notify you if someone following you retweets something you retweeted, or to notify you if anyone retweets one of your retweets.

I get them randomly like when someone mentions me. I should also receive email notifications when someone DM's me but I never do so I make sure I check my messages manually at least twice a week.

If you are not getting notifications that you think you should, you want to check your settings and see if the correct boxes are ticked.

I have my settings to receive email notifications when someone messages me but I never get them. I don't get notifications every time I am mentioned either - just when Twitter decides to!

I also don't get all DM's or Mentions, but I check manually out of habit when I was using it as my main comping method. I think it picks and chooses, or I'll get the email a week later... xxx
