I understand what your saying, don't need you to explain any further. What I'm after without disclosing lots of information on line to strangers is which cards are likely to help me.
This does affect the advice you can be given.
But I'll have one last stab...
MBNA are known to give some of the highest credit limits. However, two things stop you from going this way...
1. You already have one (as it now transpires), and
2. They don't have a good 0% on purchases card.
After MBNA (in my experience), the next best credit limit will come from your bank...the one that receives your "management accountant" salary. So do they have a good 0% on purchases card?0 -

Thanks, your a hero.0 -
After MBNA (which I've had for years), Barclaycard Plat gave me the highest opening limit - it was around 10K (can't remember). Natwest Plat gave me 9.5K. I "bank" with Nationwide, think I have 7K on their "Select" card. Other CCs have me lower limits.
Personally I don't have any problem disclosing financial info online. Even if somebody worked out my identity, there isn't much they could do with it without specifics - eg account numbers.0 -

Nationwide Select £9K
Santander Zero £8K
YB Gold £8K
Tesco £8K
Barclaycard £6K
MBNA £500 (swap limits around for various offers)
Previously, Lloyds - 2 @ £15K running concurrently. Very nice for stoozing
But for every poster saying Barclaycard gave me my highest limit, there will be another saying NatWest. Hence it's very difficult to deduce who gives "the highest" limit. So the best advice generally, is MBNA followed by your bank (unless it's HSBC, who are not known for granting high limits...unless someone comes along and says they are for them).

Do you mean you have a £15000 credit limit on an empty MBNA card or you have £15000 on a card already? if that card is empty, close it down, you're more likely to get a higher limit on your next credit card, Barclays do a good 29 month 0%.0 -
A management accountant that can't spell!
Wow, smithy999 you have time at the weekends to pull people up over spelling errors... on forums... when the vast amount of errors belong to predictive text.
Did it make you feel big?
