Huawei G510 4½" 1.2 dual core on Jellybean/Voda £46 @ Asda

This Ascend was going for £130 in April and is not a deal less than that even now at CPW etc, but Asda only want £46 for it instore on PAYG locked to Vodaphone (£3 to unlock on Ebay apparently). The display did not mention any compulsory purchase of air time and marked it as 'clearance' (though surprisingly no yellow SEL). See this thread and particularly Sillygoose's assessment in #5 if thinking of buying but NB that where he states

With the right SIM this could be a leading 'kids phone' at this price, big enough screen and enough power for internet/game usage, smart looking but cheap enough not to sell the kids to slave traders if they lose/break it.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -
A veritable bargain. If you are thinking of upgrading from a G300 be aware CEX will pay £46 for a mint condition one. Result!!0

I didn't get a G300 in the end but am in two minds as to whether I should have considering the failures reported on the G300 thread after about a year . Do you think the G510 is any less likely to fail, and do you know what Cex are currently offering on them? Good find, Huawei make good phones. Ideal for a kids phone, I cringe when I see kids of about 10 using iPhones to play Angry Birds or Candy Crush on.0
