And how many times can you erase data on an SSD drive in order to write new data to it? Industry quotes vary between 2,000 to 3,000 and 5,000 to 10,000 cycles (depending on which technology of flash memory used)- not the best idea for PVR use.0

the write cycles are per cell, not for the whole drive.
the drives are smart enough to balance the writes across the whole drive so it doesn't use the same cells each time.
many people use SSD's as thier main drive in a pc/laptop, which includes the swap file which is constantly being written to (more so than any PVR will do)0
