Credit card payment not applied to account

The bank lost the cheque or royal mail so I have no cheque to send back to Tesco for them to find the item on their internal accounts. I have posted them a
The other information is trying to explain possible reasons for excess credit balance i.e. incorrect balance given so too much paid off account or an item refunded i.e. as in what happened on an old bank account.
Can't see where I have got annoyed with peoples replies, I had answered further questions on each reply.
I have already stated that I put in a complaint. To clarify, I have put in a complaint with Tesco and my bank.
I haven't sat looking at the cheque for 5 years, I only received it lately in a pile of unopened post. Chaser letters are normally sent or at least the bank would credit it back to the card as they would have this information. It's not a small amount.0 -
Meer I've edited the post obviously, but the above points are what made me think that a second cheque had been issued. Maybe I've picked it up wrong
They wouldn't be sending the reissued cheque back though would they ? They'd just be paying it into the OP's account !
The one thats been sent back is the out of date one surely ?
As i understand it, the OP is waiting for the reissued cheque but is wanting to know how much interest and compo he should ask for due to HIS error !0 -
silly question but how much extra would i get charged if i withdrew £900 on credit card with 2.99% exchange fee?0

Wow ! How does that happen ??0 -
Don't understand this thread at all, at best it's a whingey rant about a bank/ credit card provider, and all the OP seems to have done is get into arguments with other forumites when they haven't given him the answer he wants.
OP - if you worked in banking then you should know the form, just lodge a formal complaint and take it to the ombudsman if the answer isn't what you want to hear, you might get a result but from your confusing description then it seems to be more your fault than the banks.
Where are my arguments and whingey rants? I have re-read my posts and they are answers to questions and facts.0 -

Ah I see. Yeah that makes sense.
Either way I would be surprised if he got anything0 -

I had a pile of post, not all of my post. I live between two houses as I work abroad. God strike me down I don't jump for the post and eagerly pull everything open, as I said I have every bill on direct debit except when I get a vet bill. I'm a busy business person and commute and travel - I didn't think my work and personal circumstances were needed for my post. I'll await the response of the credit card company and bank. All I asked was how much interest and compensation should I ask for i.e. what is standard in uk these days. I know what is standard in the country I work in and I know a complaint similar to this would be paid out in my bank of employment due to changes in the consumer code.
I haven't used this site for years, I previously found it good with good knowledge. I now find it with small minded bank staff bashers, who clearly scrutinise every bill as they have no life. Jump to the pc to give out on other people's questions. No one had to reply if they didn't have something useful to say rather than "I'm confused" blah blah. Good night.0
