anyone know if the WP have to help with travel costs to work as I won't get paid for a month, and then it will be only 3 weeks pay?

They have offered to lend me one weeks travel costs, but I will still need to find 3 weeks.

  • They don't have to offer you anything. If you can't get them to offer more you could ask your employer for an advance.

They have funds for these kinds of costs. Do all your workings out, then make an appointment to explain exactly how the lack of support will mean you're unable to accept the job, or how you'll be in hardship until payday. This is exactly the support they should be providing, but you do tend to have to push them a little for it.

They have offered to lead me one weeks travel costs, but I will still need to find 3 weeks.
Are they going to get paid for you getting this job?

Ask then for the full months travel - they have the ££ for this.

To add - this shouldn't be a loan either! They have more than enough money to pay for this for you.

Won't the employer pro-rate the first month?

I was hitting a brick wall, I explained the offer to lend me a weeks travel was not going to help as it would still leave me 3 weeks travel to find and paying back the loan would then leave me short for next month, as I would only have 3 weeks pay to last me for a month, it's only 30 hours a week on min wag, so I hardly can afford to borrow from them, he told me that all people have to go through this when paid monthly, I guess now they have their fee from me finding my own job they don't give a dam.

I just wish I had to sign something for them to get paid as I would refuse.

seems crazy, they are happy to get you in the office for daft reasons, then pay your travel cost to the office, yet unwilling to help when someone gets a job.

I've been out of work for a year, I have emailed the employer a few times asking about pay dates etc, they will also have to put up with the WP ringing them to check I'm there so they can get their fee, I don't really want to have to ask my employer for money on day one, they could turn around a sack me, as I must being coming across as too much effort and only concerned about money.
