Better for hoovering the car - hand held vac or car vacuum cleaner?

if you dotn have a drive, buy a 30m extension from screwfix
Mine is 1000 watt rated my hoover is 1400 watts, runs for about 2 minutes before it cuts out when fully unwound, 2 seconds when still wound.:eek:0 -
The Dysons are only 10v. They have the best suction of any handheld, but you will only get around 10 minutes of hoovering. They also have issues with the hall effect sensor failing & rendering the thing useless.
I bought an 18v cordless from Aldi to replace my broken Dyson. It sucks almost as well as the Dyson, but lasts a lot longer. It even has a swivel head and LED lights to help see into the dark areas.
I believe the Aldi unit is actually made by CEL (the British firm behind the 'Power8' system).Never Knowingly Understood.

Seriously?
Your advising someone to buy something that could potentially be unsafe? or even lethal?
There's a reason why cables and extension leads have a current rating.......
1000w @ 240v = 4.2 Amps
1400w @ 240v = 5.8 Amps
Your over by 1.6 Amps.......
If you had no cut out, your wound up extension lead would melt into a ball of smouldering copper+pvc before bursting into flames.
OP, what about getting fitted car mats and not getting the car dirty in the first place?
Your car ain't a lounge on wheels............ It's a vehicle for moving from one place to another.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

This one will be of more use but costs £100 and draws 100A from the battery  http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-12v-modified-sinewave-1000w-inverter-a12hq0 -

No I am not, I am advising them not to buy an extension lead like that.
Seriously, you can't tell a joke when it is written even with a jokey thing in it?
Also corrected your mistaken your to you're.0 -
Well from the majority of responses it seems that I will be disappointed with either of the options I listed in the op. Looks like I will be better off buying an extension cable - just need to check how powerful my home vacuum cleaner is so that I don't buy an inadequate one.0

It doesn't read as a "joke", I nearly reported your post in case someone took it literally.
I'm not trying to be a d*ck, you just have to be careful what you post on these forums, as within 30mins they can reach the top of Google search results (for certain key words) and Google doesn't show the smiley faces.
Also, picking at spelling or grammar is just a form of ad-hominem. It doesn't make my point any less valid.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It'll be 2000w maximum, so get a lead rated for at least 10 Amps and you'll be fine (as long as you fully extend it).

Something like that would work, I got one similar on Ebay for about £15, it was clearance stock from the late "Focus DIY".
Might also be worth buying an RCD circuit breaker, just in case there's a chance of it getting damaged whilst in use.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I used a hand held one that gets everything up, it gets dried mud off the carpets quite well, when I go to the car next I'll have a look to see what brand it is.0

I must admit that after years of faffing with extension leads, 12V hoovers and rechargeables I've given up and pay a quid to use the hoover at my local Tesco petrol station - plenty of power and does a great job.0
