So if they are refunding by cheque and thery are not doing any other way then cheque it is.
It is not their problem if you have post that gets lost or intercepted.
Good luck with turning up at their office - I think you will have a nice ride in a panda car myself.
You are right than in all probability the debt is statute barred HOWEVER that is only if they take you to court. The debt is still outstanding so IMO they can take what they are owed from the amount they will pay you.0
