• Just because your exchange is taking orders for Infinity doesn't mean that everyone under that exchange will be wired to get it.

If it means laying 5 miles of fibre and installing a new cabinet to reach 10 houses BT won't bother. The cabinets cost tens of thousands of pounds on their own!!

There are a few checks you can do,

1. https://www.btwholesale.com/includes/adsl/main.html

This will tell you if you can get FTTC and what cabinet you are connected to.

2. http://fttc-check.alc.im/

This shows FTTC availability and will tell you if you are on an exchange only line (which rules out FTTC for now) but it is out of date on some information.

3. Email Openreach

nga.enquiries@openreach.co.uk

Ask them and they will give you the most up to date information for your area but they may be slow to reply.
• When I was talking to open reach and used their site it says I can get it
So open reach says they don't know why I can't get it but with bt computer says no :-)

The Openreach site only tells you that an exchange is enabled. Your cabinet also needs to be enabled and not all cabinets within an exchange area get upgraded.

If your cabinet has been enabled then the reason you still can't get FTTC might be because you are too far away from the cabinet to have an order accepted.

Where I used to live, the streets around ours could all get FTTC. The cabinet we were connected to is still not enabled for FTTC as I've spoken to friends who still live there.
