    491 + 357 -> 850 kWh over 42 days

    2o kWh per day. I take it you use gas for heating and hot water. That's about double the national average for households with gas c.h.. Not crazy and easily doable. Why do you think it is too high?

    Thanks for this, I get that I've used 850kwh but is it not over 74 days? Sorry I'm just trying to find out what's going on, and am new to this.

    31days jan and Dec plus 12days nov? Or am I missing something?

    Thanks again everybody

    This is November - a few days after official reading.

    I'm sorry and am clueless about this sort of thing but would an extra shower a day cause this? What sort of thing would I be looking at?

    Looks like the November figure from your bill was an estimate - that reading is: 98798 (I think)

    Is it?

    If you pay 5p per unit, you'd best let us all know who your supplier is.
    I think all of them are between 4p and 5p a unit.

    20 kWh a day seems amazingly low, that's less than a quid a day (depending on your tariff). Don't forget it's winter, the previous period of around four to five months was mostly late summer/autumn.
    Um, we only use just over 20kWh/day and we are all electric.

    Excluding NSH/HW we use 6-8kWh/day.

    20kWh/day is high IMHO.

    For electric? More like 12p and 15p.

    Oops! Sorry all, I just saw the word 'gas' in post 4 and was on autopilot after that.

    No wonder the figures didn't make sense to me!
