Hi,
My girlfriend bought us 2 vip manchester united tickets against manchester city for my birthday. This was originally arranged for the 1st march but has now been moved to the 25th march which we cannot make. As she is not a big football fan she had no idea how usual rearranging fixtures is and on purchasing it from their site selected the ' i accept the t&cs' checkbox. In the t&cs in very small print it does state no refunds. She has rang once to ask for a refund which the flat out refused.
Has anyone else been in this position before? Anyone managed to get a refund?
It's a lot of money and we are desperate to get the money back.
It was purchased using a credit card. Not sure if that gives us insurance of any kind?

For such a big local derby you could probably get face value if not more on viagogo."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

Thanks for your reply!
Have you any experience with this? Also, will they not know that we have sold them? i.e do we have to show ID for the VIP thing?0 -

Only you can answer that, surely - check the tickets.0 -
What do the t&cs say about the date changing?
Surely they can't expect everyone to be available every weekend? That would be an unfair t&c.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Where were they bought from? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Seems a very unfair and one sided arrangement.
Surely they have changed the contract therefore no refunds should not hold.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
When you are done moaning remember that there are people who would love to have your standard of living!0 -
The T&C page is unavailable right now but I found them relating to a couple of seasons back for the VIP package. On there it says very clearly that kick off times and fixture dates are liable to change, that the club will publicise any changes as soon as possible, and that no refunds will be given in any such situations. It also advises not to book travel until as close as possible to the game in case of change, the only thing they will do is guarantee your ticket allows you to go on the rearranged date.0

I reckon you just want your money back as you know City are going to beat you hands down!! :rotfl:
In all seriousness have a look at selling them on viagogo, they will be snapped up.If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me0 -
You can get double the birthday present, by both:
- getting your money back by selling them on viagogo, and
- not having to watch City put half a dozen goals past David de Gea

HA HA Yeh i am not expecting a great result against city! Can't make it as we have a holiday booked! Also, even if we weren't they have arranged the game from a saturday to a rubbish tuesday night and as we are coming down from the south west it would have been difficult with work commitments so all in all, rubbish!
Anyway, I really appreciate all your feedback. I understand it is in the T&Cs so we can't argue it. Although i'd understand it if the game was in a few days but the game is in 7 weeks times. They could easily resell the tickets, it just encourages touting.0
