Last night, a call from my son-in-law on his mobile informed me that they had been without phone & internet all day and would I try to do something. I called TT and informed the remote person. They took the landline and mobile number of my son-in-law and texted them so say they would test the line then they would deal with it and let them know the result.
24 hrs later, and they haven't heard anything. I have just phoned again to be told by the remote, that they are still dealing with it.
BUT, we have discovered two things. Via Facebook, a great many people lost their phone/internet service yesterday in the immediate area. Secondly, it has come to light that damage has been caused by some thieves who it seems have stolen copper wire. Don't ask, because I don't know any more. All I will say is that it is just outside a military establishment and it is military personnel effected.
Yes I've digressed, and yes I've been to the TT Forum, but since it changed, I hate it and can't find my way round. Hopefully the TT Rep on MSE might throw in a lifeline, but this needs to be quick because we're going to their house tomorrow and I won't have access to this site or any other.
PS, the annoying thing is that I recommended TT to my family about six months ago and already they're saying they have lost confidence in TT as they haven't issued a text today.

Will be open reach repairing the damage not talk talk
Repairing the damage is a major job , length of time dependent in the amount af cable removed
Priority is given to vulnerable people , hospitals etc , us poor private phone line customers at the bottomEx forum ambassador

First of all, thanks for getting back quickly.
It was at the back of my mind that that would be the procedure. I think what they are frustrated at is the fact they've heard nothing more. I've tried to explain that if it is as they say, then many subscribers, irrespective of who they're with, will be affected and as yet, TT have fulfilled their obligations by texting them once so at least they are aware.
Any anger being vented regarding TT, is wasted in my opinion because whoever they were with, will be going through the same motions. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
TT have no control over this repair, it is down to BT OR, and your provider can only tell you what OR tell them.
It's been down only 24 hours, just how quickly do you think a major cable repair can be carried out? 3 working days is the average. No free lunch, and no free laptop

From what I gather, it is more serious than anticipated. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
