Hi, I have a bog standard phone at the mo, it hasn't even got a camera but it does me for texting and calling family at £5 pm unlimited with virgin.
I need a phone that I can use for the internet, mainly twitter (for work) and facebook, possibly emails and camera, but I don't want to pay more so keep the tariff. Is this do-able?
Someone suggested a zte blade 3 what do other people think? Where should I get it from?
thanks

Yes, ZTE or Huawei if you want to spend less then £100.
Motorola Moto G if you want to spend slightly more.
Post the amount and you'll get suggestions for the best phone and the place where to buy it.
Huawei Y300 is £60 at CPW on Virgin PAYG upgrade.0 -
Will you maybe have to add a 'data bundle' to your contract to get internet?0

thank you I didn't want to spend more than £100 and yes, may need a data bundle although dd1 got an iPhone and kept her £5 tariff and gets data...Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Check Zte Blade V at Virgin (£90 PAYG).
Make sure your tariff includes sufficient data allowance.
It's £24x£10 on pay monthly, but the allowances are small.
That said, IMO Blade V is just marginally better than than Y300:

... which is presumably (?) an extra cost?0 -
You will find these phones, while cheap and cheerful, will be outdated very quickly.
However, you should look to get a data bundle of at least 500MB per month. You could look at Virgin's £15 a month sim only deal which gives unlimited everything (calls, texts and data) for £15 a month.0 -
not sure what you mean, someone gave her their old iPhone so it didn't cost her anything.... which is presumably (?) an extra cost?Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

What I mean ....
You said you had a 'simple' contract with minutes and texts
If you add data in any way, you will be charged for it - usually, without a 'bundle' is more expensive0 -

I have 250MB per month - had it since May 2013.
I have *never* exceeded it0 -

I would definitely recommend paying that little bit more to get a Motorola Moto G. I got one as a spare and was so impressed with it I have sold my HTC One and Samsung S3.
It has a very good screen and is very easy to use.
It is available on Tesco Mobile for £12.50/month and as there is no upfront handset cost it means the tariff is actually costing you around £7.50/month. And that's for the 16gb version.0
