Tyre wear - inside

Phoned another place, £100 + Vat, and as I've ordered the tyres already I'll let them do it in one go I suppose.
Still sounds expensive to me, although it may depend where you live. I got mine done at a place I found via the website I posted above about a year ago. They quoted me £20 per wheel then needed to adjust, but in the end adjusted all three and charged me £60.thelawnet wrote:He started to talk about fuel efficiency, but well he would say that wouldn't he?
Wheel alignment will help economy, but its unlikely to be a difference large enough to spot. I'd be getting it done on your car since it will save you far more money on tyre wear, as well as making the car safer and handle better.0 -
Get some new tires. if they are wearing on an edge the it will not last much longer, sure one mot tester will pass it but how many more miles before the steel belts become visible? The issue is, the tyres are worn on the inside. On the outside there is loads of tread. I think the dispute was that the wear was not in the centre.
You can't appeal tyres, because they can be changed.
So I can
(a) forget it, and get another MOT done (£40) and it will probably pass (?)
(b) get the tyres changed, tracking checked (?) and retest for free,
The guy in the garage didn't really want to say whether he thought the tyres needed replacing.0 -

Is it worth flogging the old ones on fleabay?
Any experience of this?0 -

No of course you shouldn't sell the tyres, they should be disposed of by the fitter replacing them. They are at best borderline unroadworthy.
Out of curisousity I just had a quick nose at worn tyres on ebay and couldn't see any in remotely as bad a state as yours.0
