Is it 63 jobs or actions? Remember that your expected to do a job search 7 days a week, which means 9 jobs or actions a day. If its that hard, just apply for any job that is advertised. Also start making speculative applications and record them. Do you have any heritage/tourist attractions/holiday parks near you? They'll all be hiring now to start in April, so its worth giving them a call to see if they have vacancies (same for hotels.)
If it's 'actions' (which is what mine says) and I don't see anything suitable I just record UJM: Nothing Suitable.0 -

It's already been reported that it is actually Actions, not Jobs.
The DWP does not expect jobsearch on 7 days a week. They even allow you a holiday.0 -

Yes they do .....and no they don't.I am in my late fifty's stix62
Oh well, that shoots down my theory. I thought they might be giving a youngster a hard time.
Im in my 50's - 17 actions per week. Of course there's always the...'I will apply for any miscellaneous vacancies I am capable of' clause which makes all these figures redundant anyway.
You definately need to renegotiate your JSAg.0 -
So 63 actins could be any combination of the following
Look on the UJM site
Look in the local press
Send spec CV's/letters
Use various other sites - all counting as one action per site
Send CV's to agencies
Ask former work mate
Ask friends
If you do at least 15 steps a day you will be ok
Remember to actually apply for jobs too
Thank you AP007 breaking it down like this has made the task a whole lot easier. Whilst I was shopping I looked on the job vacancy noticeboard in our local shop. There weren't any but I guess I can count that as 1 action.0 -

Whatever you do though don't get mixed up and think the steps are all you have to do. Obviously you have to apply for enough jobs too whilst taking these steps.
I would however just ask at the JC for some clarification on the steps they want you to take. See if they can break them down or do you have a number against things like this on the JSA you signed?
Write to at least X employers a week
Phone at least X employers a week
Look in these newspapers?
If you do whatever the number totals forms part of the steps you need to take. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

if you call having your benefit stopped whilst on holiday that's hardly "allowing" you to take a holiday...you could sign off for 6 months for a holiday, they would allow that too as you would not get any money either.0 -
63 'actions' still seems a hell of a lot.0

Not really. I've applied for about 1500 jobs in the last three years, that's about 10 a week, and that typically involves reading through about 10 jobsite listings every day, so reading through about 100-200 individual job vacancies EVERY DAY, that's 600-1400 actions every week. If you're not doing at least 200 actions a week, you're not trying hard enough.
I'd love to see you trying to convince the job centre that just reading a job advert was an 'action'.0 -
