Sorry guys, but can I be nosy and ask why do you keep so many points unused for years? I use mine as soon as they're worth a tenner or so. It's hardly an investment since you don't get any intetests or perks for having so many in your account?

I for one use my points maybe once ever 12-18 months and I've normally got around £80 on it, I like to treat myself.

Boots have the best value for points on the market, especially when you get 10 points for £1 on baby/toddler products and double points for your birthday month. I've currently got £97 on mine and plan to buy something nice for baby no 2 due in the summer.
  • I got told last week by the lady behind the counter to 'guard my Advantage Card with my life' as there was so much money on it! She told me that if someone was to steal it it would be like free cash, as there's no way I can claim those points back again.

So I'm spending mine bit by bit now, trying to get it down!
You bowl like your mother. Unless of course she bowls well, in which case you bowl nothing like her <3 Big Bang Theory :)

with Boots the phrase when its gone its gone is very apt. Please be aware of the T&Cs for their advantage card. At the moment the advantage points expire 3 years after collection. From March that gets reduced to 2 years. I have just had £35 wiped from my card. They offered me £5 as compensation. I simply wasn't aware there was a time limit for spending them

That's truly awful! I have never been made aware of this either. At least at Debenhams all staff are robotically trained to say "your points only last for 3 months or they get deleted". Maybe Boots staff need to be trained on it too.

Thanks for the warning though. I've £180 worth on my card. I'm going to get a new pair of glasses and contact lenses for a few months.

I don't think you can use Advantage card points to buy things from Boots Opticians, you can collect them ,but not spend them there.x

I can't find anything in their T&Cs, but have just placed an order just in case! I was just short of having enough to pay for my 70% sale purchases.

    Hi,

Wdah has post the link for T&C's on page 1

  • Another recommendation not to let too many points build up on your card, I lost mine a few years ago. Pretty sure it stayed at the till, phoned as soon as I realised to find that all of my points had been taken - about £80 worth. Boots customer care were very understanding and kindly added £20 back on but I learnt my lesson and now spend them as soon as they build up!

I had saved up enough points to 'buy' my daughter a pushchair, but she had twins, so that was that plan scotched.

I have been using them for small treats, but the prospect of losing my card, T&Cs or not, has made me use some, so thanks for bringing the subject up.
