This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Slept well but got to bed too late and am still exhausted.
GDD still has bead in her ear, A&E said it was too much of a risk to remove as it's resting on her eardrum so she needs to see an ENT specialist today or tomorrow. GDD denies all knowledge of putting a bead in her ear, DD is dubious about this claim. I doubt we will ever know what really happened and just want her sorted out.
Need to get a move on, working late tonight so won't be making dinner, will take some home made soup from freezer to eat late afternoon.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all
TTFM, I hope the bead issue is sorted soon
I'm off to that place of joy called work in a while but wanted to do a bank transfer first. I got paid at midnight & transferred money into the joint account straight away as I booked a food delivery for tonight, there should have been enough to cover it but it was tight, this way is safer.
Busy weekend ahead, gym club with DGD, then a visit with DGS & then Sunday DD dog is visiting for the day so as to avoid DGD's birthday party.
Time I go a wriggle on.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0 -
Good morning all,
Pouring with rain again. It woke me up during the night where it was hitting the window so hard.
TTFTM, i hope your gdd is ok and the bead is removed.
Washing has been put on the airer. I dare say there is more washing to be done but not today, airer is full.
Sausages for tea tonight, haven't made my mind up what to do with them yet.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning x
Yesterday was supposed to be a rest day, but I went food shopping instead. When I got home I just HAD to try out my new Hoover, and I was disgusted with how much dirt it got out of the livingroom (even though it was just hoovered Monday - before the old Hoover conked out!) then I ended up dragging the girls out again because is forgotten to collect my prescriptions!! So dinner was 'if it' because I couldn't be bothered to cook!
Today, my plans are nothing! After I've done the normal stuff I'm just going to enjoy the girls. I have a play date for DD1 set up, but that doesn't happen 50% of the time.
Lunch DD1 is HM Mini Cheese Omelettes w/ HM bread
Lunch DS is School Dinners (while DH is away)
Lunch ME not decided yet
Dinner is LO Spaghetti Bolognaise w/ Salad
Hope everyone has a lovely day x
Ps. I hope they sort out your DGD TTFTM xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Good Morning Everyone :j
Nearly the end of the week yay.
Am off to work today and am a little nervous as I will be telling them I cannot work both days at the weekend. There will be 3 options - they dont want me and send me home, they look into job sharing, I do the job until they find someone else. I hate telling people something they don't want to hear iykwim but one of my 'resolutions' is not getting into doing stuff to make other people happy.
No plans other than that I sort of can't get into a routine with work at the moment as I dont know if I am going to be staying there, so OH will sort out his & DS' dinner tonight.
Wet and miserable here again - everywhere is completely sodden but I can't complain as no real flooding.
Have a great day all & I hope the Bead gets sorted TTFTM! x0 -
Morning everyone
Getting light, no frost and dry at the moment, rain forecast later though.
DH getting ready for work.
Dinner last night was omelettes jacket pots and salad. Spag bol tonight.
Pc tower gone fir data transfer to new one, hoping to get it back later or tomorrow.
Will be cracking on with all the chores, washing drying ironing, housework and packing. Won't be spending time on computer as on lappy at the moment and don't like it as much as pc!
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
TTFTM - Hope the bead is removed soon, must be a strange feeling.
HH - Do you ever slow down? Your work are amazing, you must write down everything they say, it would make a fantastic book!
EG - Hope you get sorted soon.
Went to country dancing last night - just as I remembered it and I am as bad as ever! It is quite amusing - think a couple in their 80s (one kind of shuffles around), 4 in their late 60s and my friend and I in our 50s, me being useless! The teacher is about 70 and is now using an i-pad that he jabs with his finger till it falls over!
Anyway, had an omelette for tea, DD had chorizo and cabbage, different! Not sure what's on the menu for tonight as I am at the hospice and DD is working till 7. I have hm carrot and corriander soup for lunch, just the thing when you have been out in the playground for 45 mins.
Washing reasonably up to date and not much ironing. Take care and have a hug if you need one. XX0 -
Morning all,
Not raining here for a change, I am sure we will get some later on. Its very cold though. DD off to uni today and OH and I at work so all busy.
Tonight I have a delivery coming from asda and I shall do another wash and get it on the airer.
Dinner will be chips with something, possibly fish cakes, I am finding I am having to do more simple dinners now that I am working full time, I would like to cook a more elaborate menu but I am just not finding the time, such is the life of a busy working mum
Hope you all have good days xx0 -
Morning,
Wet and miserable looking out there today. Feeling a bit yuk too. I've had a cough and muffled ear for about 4 weeks and now I have a sore throat joining the party!
TTFTM - hope the bead doesn't cause too much of a problem. I remember when DS2 stuck something up his nose, luckily I managed to get it out in the A&E car park!
Not got too much planned for this morning, work later. Might make some cakes for the tins otherwise they will be hunting through the cupboards later.
Have a good day0 -
Morning all,
dreary here today so I had a long bath and did my roots before getting up. DH went to work worried I'd be unable to get out unaided, but here I am. Living dangerously is so me
I've lost another 4lbs so that's 7.5 lbs so far. It should settle down now, but I have a long way to go.
More pen pushing today, thinking of the money has to help.
Must make the shopping list and plan meals today - actually the other way round, but you know what I mean.Time_to_face_the_music wrote: ».....GDD still has bead in her ear, A&E said it was too much of a risk to remove as it's resting on her eardrum so she needs to see an ENT specialist today or tomorrow. ...............
According to my mother I have a small bead somewhere in my head, but back in the late 50s if they couldn't see it, it stayed there. Dad thinks I ate it, but Mum has held out for the ear theory. I hope it can be sorted without frightening the little one.
Have fun if at all possible xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
