Mortgage Life Inssurance denominated in Euro

Hi,

I'm French, I'm living in Singapore, and I intend to purchase a property in Dublin (Ireland) with a mortgage issued by an Irish bank.

According to my understanding, the law forbids Irish life inssurance compagny to provide mortgage life insurrance for non resident.

Does someone know how I can find a non Irish life insurrance compagny to cover my mortgage in Euro?

Many thanks

  • Have you tried any Singapore or Malayasian insurers? Whilst the property may be in Dublin, the policy pays out on your death so the insurance providers in the region where you live are the ones most likely to cover you.

Is there any particular reason why the insurance needs to be paid for in Euro's?

Presumably because that is the currency where the property is.

but he's not insuring the property, he's insuring himself, that's my point. I was just wondering if there was another reason.
