Help-orange mobile upgrade a joke!
I have just tried to upgrade my mobile contract with orange to no avail. I searched on-line and saw that I could get an iPhone 4s for £17 through secure-mobiles.com using O2 for the tariff . I then phoned Orange to see if they could match that price. I was told the best they could offer was £21.99 with limited minutes and data and that all they could offer me was what was available on-line. They also informed me that if I went with an on-line company the Apple warranty would be invalid and that I could be left with a faulty phone and out of pocket. Is this true? Am I not covered by consumer law? Has anyone else had any problems - or if successful how did you do it? Many thanks for your help in advance!

They told you blatant lies....They also informed me that if I went with an on-line company the Apple warranty would be invalid and that I could be left with a faulty phone and out of pocket. Is this true?
You are covered by the SoGA: Consumer Rights ArmourAm I not covered by consumer law?
And you are covered by Apple's pathetic warranty that is 1 year unless you pay extra for extending it.0 -
Hold your nerve and wait for them to get in touch with you again ... no promise that they will offer you anything better, but it worked for me.
However I then had a letter giving the wrong figure for my contract, so I had to phone and say "I didn't agree to pay that much!" Fortunately it seems to be accepted that I didn't, so the payment should be reduced, but I'll be checking ...Signature removed for peace of mind0
