Boosting a phone signal just a little
My friend has a Nokia phone and it only got 1 bar 3g signal the problem being he relies on it for his only internet access.
He bought a new phone(Chinese phone but a good one not a fake) and the phone works amazing for him but the signal is only 5 bar 2g which means he cant use the internet on it.
He just needs a way to boost it just a little to get a usable internet connection else his new phone which he really likes is useless to him.

Get a better phone or move closer to the transmitter?
Otherwise it may mean opening it up and checking the antenna, Solder
a small length of wire to it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Well I got the phone first and had a 5 bar signal in my flat but he lives in a low signal area, and considering my nokia only got 4 bars in my flat its either just the signal at his is so bad or the ariel is just a little too bad.
He gets 5 bar 2 g signal just zero bar 3g.0 -
Change network?0

Is it even a 3G phone? Has he ever got 3G on the phone ever?0

Maybe the make/model of the new phone and the network would help???0

If you had the phone with a good signal and now he doesn't it would suggest it is unlikely to be the phone that is at fault.0 -
Does he have the correct APN settings? They probably won't be preloaded on a Chinese phone0

You have no ability to boost both TX & RX - the phone transmitter has a fixed output and cannot be improved. The receiver can make use of a booster for the inbound service but if he cannot respond, is pointless.
Try a different network is the only viable solution.0
