BTP say I have to wait ~4 weeks to find out if the incident was caught on CCTV
It will be gone after 28 days.0 -

Whats BTP please?
For info, I had quotes on a new wing with respray and they were around the £800 mark. May as well try the repair and if it is still noticeable, make sure the car is really filthy when you take it back and they might not notice.0 -

I would wager that for a proper repair and no filler nonsense (assuming a dent man can't take care of the crease), that it may be cheaper to get a salvaged wing as a bolt on repair.
What car is it out of interest?
As it is made of Aluminium i would take a stab at it being either a Jag or an Audi0 -
steel can pop back into the shape it was moulded much easier. aluminium doesn't do that.
i would take a gamble with the £160, at 15% of the cost of a full replacement. it's worth trying.0 -

Are you sure it wasn't damaged elsewhere before you parked and you hadn't yet noticed?InsideInsurance wrote: »Joy of joys, returned to my car last night to find a nice dent in my offside front wing. The kind soul who hit it didnt feel it necessary to leave any details either.
Reported to BTP to get a look at the CCTV but its a roving camera and far away from the parking space so not looking optimistic. So looking like a nice unexpected bill for me then.
It could have been hit on a previous parking occasion, although I suppose the location near the driver door means you would probably notice it sooner rather than later.0
