Can I return a phone I bought via an upgrade?

I upgraded today to EE from orange and paid 39.99 to get a samsung s4. However I'm not sure about the phone and was thinking about going down to an s4 mini (which is free)

Am I able to return the phone, keep the package but downgrade the phone and get a refund? As I paid for the handset isn't this returnable? I'd understand if it was free

A phone is never free. When supplied in conjunction with a service, it is funded wholly or partially by the monthly charge for the service. That is not free, as you have to pay something.

Instore or online? Have you put the SIM in it?

With Vodafone if done online you get x amount of days to try the phone. But as soon as you put a SIM in it. Its yours.

The mini is not a patch on the S4. In fact i prefer my old S2 to the S4 mini.
