I SUED Npower... and I WON.

If the retailer and Amex had invoiced you for £800 then that IS the price in the contract. Their error, but binding.
I'm right, you're wrong.
Npower have now paid the bailiff in full.
I sued Npower again in the county court last week for the further and final period after they would not amend their next £400 bill down to the £100 I calculate I owe. The further case continues...

For perhaps the first time, I am on NPower's side.0

I'm right, my link is right; you're wrong.
I hope for your sake this massive thread hasn't attracted the attention of npower. Your litigious attitude may have served you well so far, but they may decide if you continue with your spurious law action that it's time to fight back.0 -
Now in addition to getting a free car, I've also had free energy all winter! My gas supplier has just sent me my first statement in six months... they've used an estimated reading and it's only 1 unit higher than the reading on my last bill! ($1.20) As per DJMC's lawsuit we now all know that it's illegal for an energy supplier to send a corrected bill... the first one they send is the only one that can be enforced!
So there we have it....I got a free car and free gas all winter! I am a lucky boySunny in Southampton.0 -

So if they overcharge me on a bill by a few thousand pounds, I suppose I have no option but to pay.
Ah well its 'swings and roundabouts' I suppose;)0 -

Thanks for the updates. Win or lose I hope you will post the results. I wish you the best of luck.
Will you win? Possibly! Relying on similar facts to the Claim you won bodes well.
The one thing that can't be predicted is what any given judge will do. Unrelated to contract law a UT Administrative Appeals judge decided that 'home education is not a right'. This opinion is totally at odds with what the government and everyone and his dog knows - which is that it is a right. I happen to agree with the judge's interpretation, as I believe it was technically (but not morally, due to this opinion unfairly influencing his Decision) accurate - but absolutely nobody else does. So there you go - anything can happen.0 -
I would just like to say how disappointed I am with negativity towards this thread when we should be congratulating as this information will help so many others who find themselves in this unfortunate situation. I feel that a lot of people who post on here are internet trolls and can be very unhelpful. However thank you for sharing your experience and I hope it does not discourage others :T0

this is one main reason energy prices are high, also it might just bite him in the butt the second time around.
I wonder if the opp knows they can refuse to supply, also suppliers do share information.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -

'Unfortunate situation'?
The OP had used electricity worth £3,200 more than he had paid.
The Company had written off nearly £3,000 of that valid debt - and yes it is a debt - because of a code of conduct they had agreed; but a code which not all companies had signed.
I think many of us would love to be in such an 'unfortunate situation'.
I can only think you haven't read the thread, or have read it but not understood.
I think post #47 sums it up.So you used energy and you don't want to pay for it....
Hopefully your attempt at bragging won't lead to thousands of other consumers to copy what you have done and drive up the costs of energy even more to cover the costs of petty law suits from people who don't want to pay for something they have used.
MSE is about money saving. There are people on MSE who have turned avoidance/evasion of valid debts into an art form.0
