PIN has reset itself - what to do?
I was using an old phone in which I had the new EE-based Asda Mobile SIM card, and set up the keyboard-lock security PIN in the normal way. This seemed to work fine, just to make the keyboard and options accessible.
I then transferred the SIM into a new phone, but there was then no requirement to enter any PIN code, and the keyboard was unlocked all the time. I went into the Security settings and set the PIN mode from Off to On, but was then asked to enter a PIN. I tried the one to which it had been set, then a default PIN of 12345, but neither worked, and I have only one try left.
What can I do now? I can probably find the PUK which was printed on the credit-card-sized piece of plastic from out of which I pressed the SIM card, but I'd prefer not to have to use it. Alternatively, I can just leave the phone working without a PIN.
Could the new SIM have had the PIN reset to some other default by EE/Asda Mobile? (I can't ring their Help Desk yet because the phone number hasn't yet been moved to the new SIM card...)
Thanks!
