You could always try DH's method... If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is!
Good idea.. just checked and nobody else is on same network... never mind! Got it in pieces on my desk at the mo hoping it'll dry out. Have got an old phone to use for now (different network) if I need to get in touch with people but it's v expensive and not in the best state itself. Realise I am now sounding like a 'can't live without my mobile' person
but it's the only way I can talk to OH due to different work shifts and stuff. I've already been looking at new ones on eBay in case my current one is unsalvageable.. not very DFW

Is it true that if your freezer is fairly iced up it costs more to run? If so why?
When we bought our fridge within the instructions it advised us to defrost things in the fridge, it takes longer (we take it out the night before instead of in the morning) but it reduces the running cost of the fridge in the same way that putting hot dishes in increases the running costs. But I can't work out why an iced up freezer costs more to run. They're always saying that you should keep your freezer full, doesn't ice count?
sorry I'm rambling again.0 -

Have you got one of those little silica gel packets that absorb moisture? I keep one in my sewing box to stop my needles going rusty. One of those might absorb the moisture from your phone.Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.

Hi christmasshopper and everyone else - I'd LOVE a cuppa having just finished a marathon of ironing, but just one thing - it is Wednesday, but it's the 27th (not 28th)

Hi Oliveoyl....
No i just shove what was left in the chest freezer into the little fridge/freezer... and i didnt even have to put any hot water in a bowl to help it along... just switched it off and left the lid open...i will do the fridge/freezer tonight so its ready for the removal guys on Friday...
I defrost my freezer most months..a tip:- when you have defrosted it this time..wipe the inside over with comfort-shut it up and switch it on and leave for about 30mins.....then next time you do it, the ice won't have frozen so hard..it just drops off in sheets....i found this out when hubby switched off the freezer for 2 weeks and it was full of fish n sea food:mad: ....so you can only imagine the stink:eek: ....and i have never had the comfort smell transfer onto food...but you can do the same thing with glycerine if you want to be certain...
And christmasshopper....are you sure you have it switched off:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Ooh, sure I've got a few of them at home. Got heater on next to my desk at the moment.. not too close though, I don't want to cause any heat damage as well.. this technique seemed to work when I poured wine in my laptop :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Oh dear I've done all my insurance quotes to start on 29th. I'll have to go back and re-do them!
Thanks for letting me know. I could have had an illegal day! :eek:Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in.
