It's Wednesday afternoon. Time for afternoon tea. I'll put the kettle on and get some biccies out. I haven't had time to bake today. But I'm definitely in need of a cuppa and a friendly chat. So come and join me and meet some new friends. Come and share your news.

Howdy!! Cuppa sounds just perfect. No real news I'm afraid but might make some cheese straws in a bit if any one is interested!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Afternoon,
I have just made my tea, hope you don't mind me enjoying my chinese noodle lunch while I am at it!
Well, tomorrow I will be making my final payment to MBNA to pay off my 0% card (deal expires next month) and I will have officially paid off £18k of credit card debt since October last year! Dead chuffed!!!
MBNA have phoned me at home (I guess trying to get me to get more credit with them) but I'm not there so I "don't know" about this. Will phone them when the money clears!
How is everyone else doing?
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Well done you!! I bet your so proud of yourself.
I don't drink tea or coffee, but I might settle down for a nice glass of water if that's ok.Current debt - £16,300

I'm trying to sort out our car insurances by following Martin's instructions. What a headache! I am getting slightly dearer quotes than I am already paying but from companies that use Quidco. So I could pay a bit more and hope I get cashback. If I do get the cashback I will be about £30 better off, but if it doesn't track properly I could be £20 worse off.

I managed to save £31 a month on my car insurance and tracked £27 through Quidco!!! Martin's tips do work.
It's a tough one though. I'm not sure I would take the risk.Current debt - £16,300

Which company did you use? I'm looking at Swiftcover and The Post Office.
I did my mum's yesterday with Saga and the cashback is tracking already. It saved my mum £100 :j

Afternoon all.. I'm at work but am mainly drinking tea and fiddling with my mobile as the screen's gone funny (think it got damp), and I can't use it.. even more annoying as I'd just put credit on and I can see I've got texts but I can't get to them  Don't imagine me fiddling with it is going to help but.... :rolleyes:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

I went through the post office. I didn't get the £50 cashback, but one month's free insurance. It tracked really quickly, I'm just waiting for the money to come in now.
I found Marks and Spencers really good, although if you take their insurance they do want proof of no claims.Current debt - £16,300

Yes Marks & Spencer are coming up cheap for me too, but I can only find Marks & Spencer groceries on Quidco. Would you mind having a look for me to see if you can find Marks & Spencer insurance, please? ( I don't know about you, but I think there is something not quite right about M&S being one of the cheapies!
