118247 truly shocking charge on mobile phone!

I received my O2 phone bill a few days ago and was shocked to find it to be double what I was expecting. Going through the bill, I was even more alarmed to find an entry for the 8th January of £52.92 for a call lasting 12 minutes and 42 seconds. I had called 118247 (I normally just google for a number- what was I thinking!?) and had been transferred- I have no memory of the call, which was in the middle of the day- I can only imagine I was busy/ distracted at the time- but SERIOUSLY.....£52.92 for a 12 minute call?!? How is that even legal? I really cant afford this at the moment, so have been whipping round the house looking for stuff to ebay to pay the bill! Not good.
