what to do with an unused wedding dress

Before we were married, my wife bought a dress from a wedding shop. On the run up to the wedding, the shop went bust and we couldn't get the necessary tailoring done, so my wife bought another dress from another shop
We still have the dress, its unworn and in mint condition. Is there anywhere that might give a good price for it? It was 1200 new, and I think that was reduced
I don't really want to put it on eBay, as people look for bargains there, is there somewhere that might buy it and resell it? Does that sort of thing happen?

You could go to a second hand dress agency and ask them to sell it for you. You agree a price and they will tell you the % they want for their fee.
If it does not sell you get it back, no charge0 -

You wont get back what you paid, but I still think its worth putting on ebay for 1000 or something similar, one persons extravagance is another persons bargain etc. Try it and see what happens.''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0

I was going to say put it on Preloved. Or an ad in the local supermarket/corner shop maybe?"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Thanks for the pointers ladies, seems like this is a regular thing judging by the services out there
I'm not expecting to get anything like the price paid, but something back would be good
Just in case anyone was interested, its made by Ellis bridals, style 11131 - try a Google search if you want a nose0 -
Just out of curiosity what alterations were required? Did you not consider finding another seamstress??

Haven't got anything else to add, apart from what's already been said (those second hand dress agency are popping up everywhere now), but just googled it, and it's lovely, you shouldn't have any trouble selling that!0

I'd make the reason it was never worn clear in any advert. Otherwise, some people may be put off.0

Where I live there is a business that sells 2nd hand dresses on they have a proper showroom I think. So I'd try a search in your local area.0
