Thanks again. Got my appointment for next friday. Just in time :j0

I had my eyes tested at D&A on Tuesday, used a freebie voucher I had from somewhere else that expired on Tuesday so had to be used. My eyes are very weak, so the girl at the desk afterwards told me that the optician who had done the test was recommending I should have Nikon lenses that could be made ultra-ultra thin (otherwise the lenses are very heavy). I asked how much they'd be, and she quoted me £245 JUST for the lenses, never mind the frames.
I fell about laughing :rotfl:
Then I came home and ordered a pair from GlassesDirect for £55 - that's £15 for the frames plus £40 for slightly-thinner-than-standard lenses.
I only wear them for half an hour when I get up (before putting my contacts in) and an hour or so to read before bed at night, so I'm blowed if I'm paying the fat end of £300 to keep them on the bathroom windowsill!
I had an email from GlassesDirect yesterday asking me to phone them just to confirm the prescription, and it should take about two weeks for them to arrive.

Thanks very much for the contribution!
Just like to point out to minimise the future problems you have, i wouldnt advise asking for thanks, as i was brutally told that it defeats the whole object of it! Now i understand that if people ask for thanks they dont get it
Thanks for the contribution, im not trying to be rude, just advising so you dont run in to the same trouble as me
Many Thanks
The PmiesterWell, I just got into town about an hour ago.
Took a look around, see which way the wind blow.0 -
