How far in advance can a Blue Badge be renewed? Mine expires 14 February - is it too early to renew it this week?

I think most councils recommend a month or so to renew incase of backlogs etc.
Your issuing council may have a webpage to advise you. I did get a letter with mine that stated the timescales, but can't find it.0 -

Yes tomtom256 is correct you need to check with your Council on what their earliest renewal date is.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -
I always do mine 4/6 weeks before the old one runs out, did it late one year and was without one for a couple of weeks....
I did my dads at Xmas and he had it a week later, they asked for the old one back since it had a few weeks still left on it (don't understand why they just don't have the new one start the day after the old runs out).....0 -
I tried to renew mine in April 2011 (expired May) and they refused to grant me one. Eventually I was told by the council that there was a report on their file that I had been seen by a traffic warden who had stated that I walked away from the car without using any aids and with no difficulties.
I then applied for DLA, was awarded HRM & MRC and applied again for a badge. It was granted in September 2011.

Dear oh dear Andy for such a keyboard warrior ayou don't know what you are on about, HRM DLA being granted means AUTOMATIC qualification for a blue badge.Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

Of course it does. If you were to read my post again you would see that I quoted various dates. Now put your specs on and start again. (I have made the important bits bolder so that they stand out for you - the operative words are 'I THEN')

Wo as has been pointed out ...you no longer have mobility needs as your medication has "removed these" (your words). ....and you think the council are being difficult in querying your badge !!!!!chortle !!!!!!Spelling courtesy of the whims of auto correct...

I've often wondered this as well, I guess eventually the Blue Badge system will become a bit more sophisticated, its still a bit in the dark ages.Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy - Anne Frank :A0 -
Two years ago i was awarded high rate dla until 24th feb 2014.
last November i was told to reaply again, "which i did" and had my results back in January awarding another two years....starting when the old one runs out, 24th feb 2014.
problem im having my blue badge obviously runs out on the same date as my present dla award and cannot process a renewal untill my new dla award starts.
So from the 24th feb i was informed by the council that my blue badge will be sent to me 7-10 days later and if i used my old badge during the 7-10 days i was liable for a fine of up to £2000
at the moment i so rely on the badge i cannot do without it, espesially for hospital appointments.
so its do i use the badge when its expired or do a George Osborne and park in a disability bay without a badge. i do not have much option0
