Which way to go?

We currently have the full package from Sky - TV (HD, Sports, Movies), Unlimited BB & Unlimited calls and have recently came to the end of a 50% off deal so cost is now ~£95/mth:eek:.

Last time we got the 50% off deal after cancelling the TV package, but just wondering what other option we have outside of Sky. Cable is not available in our area, so Virgin is out. TV is mainly used for on demand Movies and Sports (Football, Golf, F1).

Do we stick with Sky and go through the cancellation process again?

Are BT packages any good?

Any advice on best way forward to lower costs without too much compromise?

Thanks

There is nothing good about BT.

It's fairly easy to satisfy the movies requirement but legally getting the sport cheaply is a thing of the past.
You can chase around to find a free foreign channel that has the sport and tie it to radio commentary, a lot of people have done this in the past for the F1 etc. but I'm not sure what's available this year.

Prices have gone up as the sports themselves have chased the money to the point where it's a silly amount each month for most people.
Hence the rise in illegal methods
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

    Hi Tom,

I use BT TV and have done for years, via a BT Vision box and find it excellent. I've also had Sky and VM too. BT TV is no replacement for those two but its a pretty decent package of channels and services. **

All BT TV queries are now dealt with by UK call centres and they are very good. The rest are dealt with by India and they are unfortunately truly awful. But there is good forum and email support, so I never use them (India).

Sky Sports isn't available on BT's YouView service but SS 1&2 is available via the BT Vision box. Sky Movies is available on both.

** Fibre is required for TV services.
