Ongoing 6 payments late query

Hi there. Have already posted regarding this query in the past regarding my Style acc that has shown as 6 payments late for years. I seem to have some differences in how it has been reported to different credit reference agencies. Equifax show it as 6 payments late since April 2009, Experian show it as 6 payments late since Sep 2008 (both as far as the report goes) and Noddle as far back as Jan 2008. I have a letter from Style dated Feb 2010 stating that they are passing my acc over to Wescot but surely it should have defaulted before then. I am fed up of this one account having such a bad effect on my credit score. Experian have written to them but not sure if I should do something as well. How do I know what date the account should have defaulted so that I can argue my case? Is there any way of going back further than 6 years to check?

If noddle shows the 6 payments late as far back as Jan 2008 then you only really need to argue that the date of default should be Jan 2008 at the latest.
You could write to the creditor to dispute the entries on your credit file and the unfair use of 6 late payments instead of entering a default (which is specifically mentioned in the ICO guidelines on entering a default).
If they amend all 3 credit reference agencies to show a default in Jan 2008 then by next month the debt/account should not appear on any of your credit files.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
That would be brilliant if they could do that. The only problem I have is that Style say they can no longer find my account on their systems due to it being so old (it was opened in 2001) so not sure how they would remove it. I have cleared this debt last March but really don't want to have to wait another 5 years til it leaves my report0

Is the entry on your file still in the name of style? or it is shown as westcott?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

It shows as Style on all 3 but I paid Wescot since 2010 until I cleared it last March0

Make sure you save a copy of that credit report entry.
Then, write to style informing them they as they have no record of the account it should be removed from your credit file.
Also give them the option to backdate the default so it falls off anyhow.
I would include a copy if the entry so they are in no doubt how wrong it is.:beer:0 -
Right I will do that. Should I send a copy of each credit report so that they remove it from each all 3 credit reports?0

have same issue with them here as well been reported 6s since 2008 and they update every month with a delinquent except mine seems to be under red kite who ive never heard of0

I would save ink, just send one and state it's the same on all 3 (if it is):beer:0 -
Shouldn't OP insist that the account is marked as default though? The issue might be that if Style delete it then Westcot may cause problems. If you can get Style to place a default at the correct date then Westcot cannot default you again and must update your file to show the correct default date. In this case, the whole thing should fall off and not be shown. If you don't get Style to default, isn't there a danger that Wescot will just leave it there and muck around?
I've got a similar situation where I got Barc to add a default as of 2010 when they should have done. But Cabot had already bought the debt and have been adding 6's and have now re-defaulted me as of Nov 2013. They can't do this but they are playing silly beggars with me saying they can't get confirmation out of Barc etc.etc.etc. I'm not worried as I have the original Barc account with a default recorded, it's just a matter of time really before they cave in. But I would be worried if I hadn't got Barc to default it first.0 -

I think a default would be better, but I think as long as there is proof of all those 6s then there would be a very good chance of backdating the default anyhow.:beer:0
