If it had come back from Chester, I might have understood (WA6 postcode)
Maybe go for "Western Australia" rather than "WA" on the envelope

Or just "Australia". No need for the "Western" bit if the full postcode is on it too.

This could be the case but would be particularly incompetent on the part of the person/machine, as it is spelt Weston-super-Mare rather than Western!

    Good point! :rotfl:

    Perhaps Western Australia
  • Well, DH took the envelope back to the post office just to double check that the postage etc. was right. The lady behind the counter looked at the envelope, read the post-it from the people who had returned it, and said "Oh for fu... goodness sakes..."

It's gone back to the sorting office for another go...
If you lend someone £20 and never see them again, it was probably £20 well spent...

Well it was a bit thick of Royal Mail, but to be honest I would have made the last line of the address a big 'Australia' in capitals, as 'Western Australia' refers to the state inside Australia, and the country is the main thing.
  • I once mailed a big ole box to someone in the UK (making this slightly worse)... next day knock on the door - "Here's your parcel." ... uhh, this isn't mine! ... "Oh, well I was told to deliver it to you, sorry."

BACK to the Post Office to re-send it. Fortunately didn't have to pay again. -.- The sorting office had ignored the stamps and address on the top of the parcel and gone for the small return address on the back. The sillies.

I wish Australia would disappear during the cricket season, to save us the humiliation we are suffering now occurring again....

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)
