What is wrong with halifax ?

Options
I have never been rejected the credit card with any lender but when ever i apply with Halifax which is my main bank they always reject me.

Dont know why is that ?

My salary also comes into my halifax account but i transffer it to my other account and left little into it.

Any Advice.

By doing this your affordability factor may be an issue in the eyes of Halifax

Although your question is phrased as "What is wrong with halifax ?", you might find that you're better to get the answer to "what is wrong with my credit rating?"!

Your post implies that you've succeeded in obtaining credit cards with other lenders, so it may be that Halifax don't like what they see from their assessment of your credit status - as well as asking them for further details you can see how your rating looks to others by getting a copy of your credit report, see http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/credit-rating-credit-score for further details.

My guess is CPD from what I've read on here of similar. you can ask them but as lenders won't tell reasons why they declined you (in my experience most will cite CRA data being the reason even if they didn't search the file) you'll probably just get some wishy washy answer.

My bank were similar so my answer to it was to not use them for anything more than I had to, keep my savings elsewhere and enjoy better products. Vote with your feet it's easier and more effective.

At a guess, you'll be marked as Credit Policy Decline.

If you're transferring your salary out of your account as soon as it hits then to the Halifax then it just looks like you get £x in per month and spend it all, leaving no money spare to service any borrowing you get.

I do it the opposite way around. My money goes into another bank account and i transfer an amount that covers the bill for a couple of months into the account. So the money for March's bills is already there and some extra for my ebay purchases.

Halifax offered me the 15 month interest free card with guaranteed acceptance. I thought the interest rate would be high as my money is not paid in directly but i have seen worse offers.

I think that might be the reason cos i only left over around £500 and rest i play within my different accounts.

I checked my score last month that was 910, i have never missed my payment and never declined with any other as mentioned.

would be the wise idea if i don't move most of the money because halifax might do internal scoring before they do external full credit check.
  • It'll be your internal score at Halifax that's getting you rejected. Nothing to do with Experian etc, unless they've shared some adverse info with Halifax.

Your score of 910 is wrong.

I put your details through my super computer and scored you 2 cherry bakewells and a garibaldi.
This is a great score and highly likely that you can goto a budget supermarket and buy a small packet of digestives without the fear of being rejected.

The CRA provide a score in a similar fashion. But like me they dont lend you biscuits when you want some.
