I disagree with your assessment of Halifax's scoring, my tenant pays his rent into my Halifax account (£750 to cover the funding req) and I transfer it out as soon as I remember, so my average balance is about £25
I was also offered a guaranteed CC acceptance, which I will be taking up later.0 -

Now i am confused regardaing the above suggetions were mentioned before your post.
if that the case then why i got rejected twice in one year ? the only explanation they give that " we use CRA etc to do credit" nothing else.0 -

But do they pay any DDs for you?
What's a typical month look like on your statement? ie how many DDs, SOs, debit card payments, ATM withdrawals, funds transfers?
Halifax, like most (all?) banks take a monthly feed from the CRAs, which includes CII (consumer indebtedness index) data. So what's your non Halifax account management like?...ie number of credit cards and overdraft facilities held elsewhere, total limits, total debt? Obviously this is compared with your income. It might help if you divulged it, but understand you might not want to on here.
For the record, Halifax receive my salary and pay all my bills, yet I keep very little in my main Reward account (likewise in my other 3 Reward accounts!), and I take regular guaranteed credit card offers and also have a £5K O/D facility on there...despite having massive available credit elsewhere and significant (stoozing) debt (in relation to my income).0 -

This is a great score and highly likely that you can goto a budget supermarket and buy a small packet of digestives without the fear of being rejected.
I normally don't find things like this funny, but this REALLY made me laugh!!!Top marks FMN!

When you say no debts do you mean you don't have any form of credit like credit cards."You know when it's cold outside when you go outside and it's cold"0 -
I'm with BOD(same group) I had problems 15 years ago, which meant dealing with collections! Despite having a now impeccable credit history, it appears that I have an indicator on my account that prevents them from offering me mortgage credit card etc
I however do have an overdraft which I never use!
So credit cards etc from other providers, but no 2nd chance from my own bank!!
Looks like it's time for a move!0
