i think you need to quote your national insurance number to the csa.
i don't think a child is given a national insurance number/card until they are 16?0 -
children are issued with NI numbers shortly before their 16th birthday.
Are you thinking of NHS numbers? I think your doctor's surgery should know that one.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. Give them the Child Benefit reference number, which will be on any letters you have received from the CB office.0

All kids have a NI number. But they are not told it until just before their 16th birthday unless the claim DLA or other benefits.
Pass on your own NI number, child benefit ect and they will track it for you.0 -
I didn't think they had them until they are 16

NHS no. should be on the little booklet the Health Visitor gives you.
CB no. will be on any CB books
NI no not issued till just before 16th birthday.

I know the NINO isn't given until a child is 16 but when I opened my dd's government child trust fund the reference number was PI******A which is very similar to a NINO. It will be interesting to see if it is or not

It IS issued at birth, but most children have no need of it until they turn 16.
If you need your child's NI number you can look at your Child Benefit for that child. It will appear there as a [/FONT]Child Reference Number. This will be their NI number when they have need of it.
So your CRN on that childs Child Benefit award is their NI number. It is one and the same.
And it will be the same as the reference award on their CTF. CTF is a benefit as is Child Benefit and DLA and for that they need a NI number. Its just not called that until they are 16.0 -
I filled in a form for my sons DLA last yearand the reference/correspondence number given to me was the same as that on his child trust fund voucher and letter.I think that is the NINO cos it has the same format as ours.0

tiamai_d is correct - all children have a NI no. given at birth and it can be found on the Child Benefit award letter.0
