Surely you mean BluRay these days, and I don't think it matters for brand. You can still do colour/contrast with a DVD. Lookup AV Forums and if you've got a popular enough model (Samsung isn't enough information!!) you could find people recommending settings.0

You missed the part where I added information that wasn't in itsfar's post, about AVForums having threads for individual TVs, with setting recommendations. itfar's post was about PicturePerfect, which takes you through some calibration.0
