Just wondering if anyone has had the experience of buying a new build from Matthew Homes? Any info, positive, negative would be greatly appreciated as we are looking at buying a property off plan and I can only find 2 reviews online, both of which are negative.
Thank you
Thank you

Hi Kanga12
If there are any homes already built on the site then knock on doors and canvass an opinion.
If there are no completed homes then visit the previous developments to do this.
As an additional course you need to decide how professional and competent is the complete management of the site, build, materials and sub contractors. An organised, tidy, and safe site is an encouraging start whilst a shambles is risking problems.
Request a tour to inspect the quality - there is no reason why the sales team will not arrange one. After all, they want their commission on the sale - and you as a buyer would be funding this.
The key to all sites, regardless of who is the developer, is the effectiveness of the Site Manager. Ideally he will be old school and have a firm hand over the sub contracted labour.
NHBC Awards and Top 100 placing may be the ideal, but these can be rigged, or influenced. They are an indication of a good site - but not definitive. If your Site Manager has awards then ask to see them. It is likely these will be framed and visible on the Site Office wall.
Hope this helps.0 -
Bought 2 houses from them, but this was well over 20 years ago, so although no problems (other than snagging), no idea what they're like now.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Kanga 12, did you buy a home from them in the end? I am interested in their development on Orchard Acre, seen poor reviews about after sales, although there are only 5 reviews I can find. Any info would be greatly appreciated0
