    Right - Mr Cheery has gone out to a pal's house and I am in Thursday Night Buttle Mode :j :j

    Got my pjs on under the decorating suit though so I can hop straight under a blanket later ;):D :rotfl:

    So, a vague plan...

    8.45-9: tidying
    * wash dishes
    * hoover kitchen

    9-10: decorating
    * paint second coat on kitchen ceiling
    * finish undercoat under archway

    10-10.30: internet
    * pay tradesman bill
    * see if I can get a sw@gbucks survey (unlikely at this time of night but you never know)
    * blog post about uber frugal January :j

    10.30: blanket, hot water bottle and Kojak :D

    Ready, steady.... GO! :D

    Got sick of sanding filler off the kitchen ceiling and figured it still won't be up to Mr Cheery's exacting standards and I can't be bothered with it any more :o so he can do it tomorrow if it's still not right.

    Me and everything else all covered in filler now. Nice. Doing a passable zombie impression - shame it's not halloween :rotfl:

    Banks/ynab done and bill paid. I do hate to have them hanging around. Must also sort out mobile top up thing with new bank card, will do that now.

    And everything else will just have to wait for the weekend...

    Happy Friday - bring on the weekend! Am counting the minutes until the end of the day!

    Aww Cheery it wasn't the lack of nosh that was funny (and to be fair my healthy snack drawer is now suitably depleted) - the funny part was remembering cash but forgetting it was lunch time! :rotfl:

    Am always so amazed how much you get done in the evenings! The only part on my list involves the blanket and hot water bottle!

    Can't believe you forgot it was lunchtime! :eek: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    I confess I'm only really productive on a Thursday evening :o :rotfl: Mr Cheery goes out about 8pm, so it feels like the evening starts again and I have a couple of hours before I start getting proper tired. When he's here I'm useless - I'm already curled up on the sofa tonight with no intention of doing anything :rotfl:

    Some good and some bad things today - found 20p :money: went to the vending machine for the first time this year :o but there was a free kitkat in it :D :money: And then we had our first takeaway of the year too, oh dear! :eek:

    Still, it's been a long hard week and I'll be glad to see the !!!!in back of it :o

    Overalls arrived today :j :j Can't decide what I think though :o they are (understandably) more restrictive than scene of crime suit :D largely because that is a size XXL and could fit 2 of me in and these are the right size and made of thick cotton :rotfl:

    Tried on over jeans when I'd just cycled up the hill and felt horridly hot and bothered, so going to try on tomorrow over something else.

    They're so red and cheerful it seems a shame to do anything like painting in them! :eek: :rotfl:

    Not much planned for the weekend. DIY of course. Painting kitchen ceiling, and the undercoat I didn't get round to - and I want to varnish behind the kitchen sink before the paint gets any more water splashes on it :eek:

    Sunday I'm working in the day (shocking and most unusual) but just for a couple of hours (no, it's not any more money although theoretically I can take time off at some point and I'll get a free lunch), and then a meeting early evening, so it's a bit bitty and probably won't get much done

    Not convinced about this working full time malarkey - having Fridays off was MUCH more civilised! :rotfl:

    I could always ask... (it was a different job before) but I want to see what we end up doing with the house first. And in reality it's only a few months of the year when it's this busy - the rest of the time I can be a bit of a slacker, and it's SO flexible I can wander off for a couple of hours in the middle of the afternoon if i need to some days... and I get nearly 9 weeks holiday a year too so I really shouldn't be complaining! :D :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Just occasionally in a busy week with a weekend of DIY life feels a bit *full*... (I should really have taken Friday afternoon off in lieu of Sunday but hadn't finished what I needed to do... will see if i can sneak off early one day next week instead...

    Going to the WI for breakfast again today - spendy spendy - but last week it was only £3 betweek us so not too bad! :money:

    Right.

    WI breakfast had - £4 this week but still not bad for two of us and it got us up and out of house :j

    Checked a daybed in Oxfam for spare room - tryig to acquire something we have a chance of using in new house rather than lumberig ourselves with a single bed we don't want. Sadly I didn't like it at all, so we may end up just getting bed off freegle then sticking back on when we're done. We'll see.

    Decided to keep cheery new red overalls :j Most jolly :j

    Sun's shining and thigs feel vagiely doable this morning :j Washed (in a half arsed fashion) the downstairs outside windows earlier as there's been some filthy rain lately and we could barely see out :eek:

    Going to stick some bread in the machine and think about lunch, then see if my overalls help me paint the kitchen ceiling in record time :D :rotfl:

    Just as soon as I've finished this tea... :rotfl:

    Evening chums :hello:

    Ceiling is painted :j apart from the bit round the light fitting that I forgot because my mum rang and I got distracted :eek:

    Got a rotten headache today :eek: Been a bit of a write off today - had to go to a work event for a few hours (I'll get the time back, but no extra dosh), then had a quick meeting this evening, and not much time between. Nipped to @ldi to do the weekly shop in the middle - I had 23 minutes before they shut and they were already saying 'Ladies and gentlemen the store is closing soon, please take your purchases to the checkout' every few seconds :eek:

    Felt like I was in Supermarket Sweep or something :rotfl: Made the whole experience unnecessarily stressful as I actually had plenty of time! :rotfl:

    Still, it's done. £20 spent, plus £2 on 1kg lentils which I just picked up from a corner shop as @ldi didn't have any. Should do us for the week.

    Now I just need to:

    * make tofu stir fry for tea (from meal plan :D )
    * make carrot and lentil soup for freezer/work lunches
    * put the bread machine on
    * make some kind of treats for work - possibly carrot cake muffins as I bought a bag of carrots not realising we hadn't even started last week's bag of carrots yet... :o :eek: :rotfl:

    Just taken painkillers and wishing I'd got round to it hours ago as this is a worse headache than I've had in ages!

    Right -stir fry. That should distract me for a bit!
  • Hope the head's feeling better now!

    :rotfl: at your carrot mountain!
