Well I certainly look dreadful in mine!

Just checked, and passport ran out last September :rotfl: Just shows how often I use it!! So I'll have to go and have photos done after all (probably no bad thing given how dreadful the passport one was...)

Driving licence runs out 4th April so I've got a few weeks.

Actually got to do some WORK today, on a FRIDAY! :rotfl: But it's not bad - popping to pick boss up from the station then off round to office pal's house (she's on maternity leave, but wants some involvement in the thing we're doing at the minute). Should be mostly tea, cake, lunch and a bit of work-related nattering :D

Not much chance of that :rotfl: :rotfl: Productive though :D and then a 2 hour lunch :rotfl:

Now painting the shower - Mr Cheery's ex girlfriend painted the shower tiles with metal paint (!) which is now flaking off in parts, so I'm patching it up. Except it was 15 years ago and it's faded a bit, so even though I bought the same colour, it's NOT the same colour, meaning I'm having to paint the entire shower all over again

And it's going to need two coats, as metal paint doesn't really stick to tiles very well, so it's rather patchy...

Ah well, good job I'm in the middle of DIY enthusiasm isn't it?! :rotfl:

Bought a couple of reduced cabbages for 25p each today :money:

And also bought a replacement windscreen wiper blade as ours is flapping about and not being very effective. Cost £9.99, and Mr Cheery seems to think I could have just bought a packet of just the little rubber bits, rather than the entire windscreen wiper, which it seems I have apparently bought...

However, I'm not going to worry about it - he clearly wasn't going to get it himself, and I was struggling to see out of the window so it seemed daft to come home and !!!! about on the internet then have to drive across town to Halfords when I was already right outside a small motor shop just for the sake of saving a couple of quid... Will attempt to fit it tomorrow - apparently it's very easy and I don't need any tools (apparently)

Right, best go finish my painting!

    :hello: Hello again

You're doing such a lot, Cheery, its very impressive. Especially the tiling and the grouting ... are the pix on the book of face? I haven't gone back there yet ... life sounds good, even though there's metal paint involved - except for the toothache (and earache for starnac) which both sound absolutely horrible :(

Hope you're having a lovely day today, with Mr Cheery :)

I think there is indeed a pic somewhere (although really it's just 8 tiles above a sink so you could probably imagine if you can't find it :rotfl: )

Not having a great day - lovely neighbours came in at 4am again and MR Cheery slept in the car from then... Came back in when I went out at half 9 but still quite groggy and has gone back to bed while I go out to buy paint. Not exactly the day we had planned :rotfl:

They've been very apologetic when i've mentioned it before and it's only every couple of weeks, and they're just *talking* when they come in (and running up and down stairs) so it could be MUCH worse I suppose.

Might go round in me nightie next time - that'll scare them  :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've actually got a phone number for one of them now and they've said to text if they're makig a noise but i wasn't coherent enough at 4am - might draft one in advance and save it for when needed.

Still, with my new found DIY enthusiasm i've been investigating soundproofing :rotfl: I think we can start by lining the inside of the old chimney next to the bed that we use for bedding - it's just bare brick at the back and goes straight through to a bedroom so when they talk in there late at night it sounds right next to our heads.

    Off to Wickes!

Oh! and the windscreen wiper blade broke yesterday so i bought a new one but couldn't figure out the 'simply pull this off that' instructions :o Nice man in the shop showed me how to fit it this afternoon so I can do it myself next time :j

Hmm - not a brilliant successful trip to Wickes. Was after an experimental piece of 'soundboard' but it was too big to fit in the car :rotfl: There was half a piece on the top of the pile which someone said I could have for a discount :money: but when I got to the til it turned out to be plain old plasterboard (which is no use) so I had to leave it behind.

Ah well. Got another tin of paint so I can finish the shower tomorrow :j

And popped into the co-op, got 2 bags of sprouts reduced to 39p each, and 2 swedes reduced to 25p each :money:

So not a bad trip really :rotfl:

Oh no! to noisy neighbours. We have a noisy neighbour of our own but we would never complain as it's a different situation. (Very deaf old lady who's TV we can hear through the wall!!) Hope soundproofing the chimney will help. A draft text would be a good idea. Maybe something along the lines of "SHUT UP!!!!" :rotfl:

I was doing some research on soundproofing a while back, for my counselling room, and its come on in leaps and bounds from when I started this work - it can make a big improvement. Sorry its made your day so iffy tho, thats not nice to be that badly disturbed.

OTOH, very positive about the windscreen wiper! Another skill gained :)

    Thanks all :)

Tried to pop round earlier but nobody answered - they're definitely in now though so i'm trying to work up to going again :o They're nice lads and i think they just don't realise how much noise comes through. Planning to take them a cake (that i bought for someone else for tomorrow) as bribery/thanks in advance :D

I hate it though, wind myself up something rotten at the thought of going and 'telling someone off' :o feel like a complete ogre :o

But at the same time I'm not having Mr Cheery sleeping in the car again, it's bloody ridiculous!!

Right, deep breaths, I'll feel better once i've done it i'm sure! :o

    Wish me luck...
