Why cant I switch from First Direct to Nationwide?

If you are copy and pasting the sort code try typing it instead and see if that makes any difference.

Yes they do. 40-47-59 is definitely valid.

They have a freephone number. For new applications, they're open until 5pm today. Far quicker and easier than trying to find an answer from an internet forum!
