Stopping a cat from enterring the house... water pistol?

We had the very same issue. I set the catflap one night to allow cats in, but not out. Middle of the night there was one heck of a commotion and the offending cat was stuck at the catflap unable to get out.
One soaking and a light tap with a bamboo cane before letting him out and the problem never came back again. No need for expensive catflaps.
I did the same when we had a normal cat flap but even getting the 2 dogs to chase the visitor around the lounge a couple of times didn't stop it invading - they breed the cats brave here in Norfolk! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

Another vote for microchip or magnetic scan catflap. The offending cat will probably appreciate the non soaking too.0

We have an ordinary catflap and don't often have visitors - they'd have to be foolhardy to brave our 9 lined up in the kitchen in screaming attack mode! It's the only time they work together."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
