GAME trade-in...price-matching with CEX

Credit only, and if the manual is missing they take a £1 off - which was news to me last time I traded in in GAME.
I only trade in if I cannot sell the items elsewhere. CEX are cheeky though. Claim they don't take scratched discs - funny, they sell scratched discs!0 -

This has been around years. Sadly I have no other games shop nearby for my local GAME to price match
I always go to Grainger Games instead as they do the same offer (and with no 1 mile radius only terms), plus last time I went they were happy to price match and add a £1 for cash or credit. Not sure they still do it with cash though.
Something that hasn't been mentioned though is that they will not give you more than what they sell a game for. So if a game is £15, for example, and cex will give £17 trade-in GAME won't match it. They may up their offer but not to the same amount.0 -

The thing is, they won't mark down the price when selling without manual. CEX also don't mark down price when selling without manual. So it's pretty cheeky.0 -

My son got an unbelievably good deal when swapping his XBox 360 and games for a PS3 and games yesterday, so much so that we have just been checking the receipt in case there were any errors.
The GAME trade-in price for the console was £60 but as they matched the CEX price, we got £97!
If you're thinking of trading anything, it may be worth a look.0 -
I've had game refuse to do the price match a few times0

They do sometimes on those 'naked' games, but general pre-owned games do not come with a guarantee of a manual.0 -
Traded in £130 worth of DS games yesterday at Game using the price match.....they couldn't have been nicer about it. All at £1 more than CEX. A real bargain as some of the games don't even fetch what they paid out on ebay. The only game they refused was a US import (I hadn't noticed, but the lady showed me how to spot the difference). There were two titles that Game actually gave a higher price for than CEX, so they automatically gave me the higher price.
As you can use the gift cards online, I went straight home and bought this:

....the Luigi-themed special edition 3DSXL, complete with FREE download of Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon for £169.99. Cracking deal IMO. Will sell the download code on ebay as I already have the game, so it should work out that I gt the special edition console for £140-£145. Oh....and a couple of the games had no instruction booklet but they either never checked or weren't bothered (I didn't actually notice if they opened them all up as the process was done mostly in the back of the shop and I couldn't see).''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0
