Twice over the last two days I tried to set up an ii account with a view to transferring across my HL SIPP. On each occasion, today almost at the first step), I have hit system error telling me to phone them. I'm starting to have second thoughts as to whether this is the right place to be moving to. Have I jut been unlucky or is anyone else experiencing this type of issue?

Well I tried again this morning from a different PC and I get the same system error (After completing person details screen). So back to the research to see which is the next best alternative.0

I completed the online application on Thursday, the account was activated on Friday and received paperwork through the post on Saturday.
Note that I did already have an ISA account with ii so this may have made things simpler.0 -

daft Q...how much do in specie transfers cost from HL to iii today? Is it £75 for the whole portfolio or is that only to transfer in cash? I need to move 4 low cost fund accounts and I'd rather not cash out and in if I can avoid it.0

Linton - to be honest my concern is that if the site has issues in accepting new accounts (ie before they have your business) then how reliable will it be afterwards.0

£75 for an entire SIPP portfolio whatever it contains. £25 per line of stock for ISAs and F&S accounts. Prices until 1 Jun 14 AFAIK.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -

Ringing them gives you a chance to test their helpdesk service.
As a very satisfied iii user I havent seen any problems for some years.0 -
Thanks Linton. It sounds like this may be a blip then so I will try the help desk.0

Rang help desk - explained the error given when setting up account. Left name and number and they said they would have someone call me. Two and a half days later no call yet.0

I suspect Interactive Investor are being overrun by the herds of Hargreaves Lansdown investors shifting there large portfolios across. I have just joined them and I am willing to give them a bit of extra rope until the hiatus settles down. So far they have been very responsive I have reduced my expectations slightly as I imagine they are very busy all of a sudden.0
