Ryanair - Seating allocation from Febuary

if on holiday for 2 or even 1 weeks then am I going to have to find somewhere with a computer and printer to check in for my return flight and print off the boarding cards??
Printing out boarding cards will soon become a thing of the past as Ryanair move to check-in on smart phones and tablets this year.0 -
we flew ryanair in October & half the plane was prebooked - it took ages for those who hadn't to find a seat as most were looking for seats together & most left were odd ones - the captain got a bit exasperated as it looked like we would lose our slot if everybody did not sit down immediately - should be all or nothing - our last easyjet flight was all allocated free - we were ready earlyproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0

Thats what it will be hamsterfan1.
aia, if you dont prebook seats then it is 7 days
If you prebook (and pay for) seats then its 30 days.0 -
The price of reserved seating has doubled in a week.
In a press release on 31 January Ryanair said "customers can pre-select their preferred window or aisle seats or ensure that they sit together for a fee of just €5/£5." On the Stansted to Lanzarote route that fee is now £10. Presumably, other routes are affected by the rise too but Ryanair do not appear to list them.0 -

Looks like STN-ACE is a 'selected route'.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Checked in for ryan air flight today. Had a quick look at the allocated seating plan and decided which seats I thought they were going to assign to us. Checked in and hey presto, they had allocated the seats which I thought they were going to! Glad I did not pay £10 each per flight. It is families I feel for. There are only 2 of us, and it is money for old rope for these airlines. I will not be paying for allocated seating in the future either.0

Considering it is short haul I don't see the need to sit together anyway, may as well save the money. We flew a few months back as a party of 7, and despite not having paid, we all sat together.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

Anyone discovered whether the seats are allocated as people check-in ( so the seat which you will be allocated changes as other people check-in ) or are they pre-assigned on day -7 ?0

Well thought i would update this thread. I have checked in 15 days before my upcoming flights and have been allocated seats together (we are travelling as a party of 3)
Better than paying for it. Obviously i have checked in early to ensure we did get seats together.0 -

The problems will come later in the year when check-in for free seats opens just 7 days before. Suppose it depends on how many of the masses pre-book so they can check in much earlier.
I intend to monitor the situation in the manage my booking section from 30 days before, and if it's filling up quickly I'll have to think about spending some more money!
I'm more worried about coming back though, but then again I suppose I can print my boarding passes for less than £10 each in resort!0
