Thank you.
I forgot to mention, my grandparents used to stay at Rozel Bay, whilst we stayed in St Helier, and we'd meet for dinner a few times during the holiday.
I got nostalgic for the place last night as I used to love the rockpools and cafes at Rozel, and found this link to the hotel.

This is high praise indeed...
"LUNCH: The Rozel Bay Inn was described in a national newspaper by globetrotter Alan Whicker as his 'favourite place on earth'. Who are we to argue?"0 -
Another vote for using the bus. As described, the bus stop is right outside the airport arrivals terminal and the bus journey is good.
We hired a car while we were in Jersey and the car was delivered to our hotel. Driving around the island was great, I'd definitely recommend it.
We also hired bicycles for a day. As long as you don't take them onto the beach, you'll be okay.;) As we cycled along the promenade near St Helier, my OH's hat blew off and a nun (who just happened to be passing) picked it up.:D Bizarre but true.10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j [/COLOR]:cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. .....Hadn't thought about bikes, Nile, that might be fun, thanks.

The buses are quite good in Jersey. I stayed in La Bonne Ville in Roseville street, a short stroll to St Helier itself, it is connected on the bus route. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

I have lived and worked on Jersey and Guernsey, have to say preferred Guernsey and would holiday there given the choice just to add a different view point. It is smaller, feels friendlier, quieter, less commercial, better restaurants, no chain pubs, McDonalds KFC etc so properly feels like a break from the UK, Jersey always felt a bit like any large UK seaside town, weymouth etc.
Bus transport great on both islands so anywhere you choose accommodation is unlikely to be more than a 5 min stroll from the bus route. If you like the sound of Guernsey then I lived in a holiday let for a bit that was very nice on a bus route about 10-15 mins out of main town but then so is everywhere as you can drive around the whole island in about 40 mins, place i stayed for a while was https://www.lapointefarm.com0 -

Thanks, Rob50k - We have settled on Jersey this time but really would like to spend a holiday in Guernsey in the future so thank you for posting.

Ah, Crimson! So glad I'm not the only person who feels like this! I am a total wuss at driving ... even in Jersey! Take the bus and watch the world go by, I say!
Years ago, we stayed at the Alhambra B&B and it was wonderful! 10 mins walk from St Helier town centre and very close to the beach. *sigh* So wish I could be there ... I adore Jersey!I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum?
