two handsets one sim, what to do?

Hello all,

changing from one phone company to another.

currently purchased a candybar requiring a standard sim. in a few weeks I woiuld start using a micro sim handset. Would the new phone company need to provide two sims, or can one sim fit into a standard sim handset, and then to a micro sim handset at a later stage?

Alternatively, you can order a normal sim and later cut it to micro size.

I think most sims are pre cut now so you can pop out the micro sim at a later date.

Yes from experience the sims ive received are now pre cut. its easy to make out which 1 you need, the piece of plastic it comes attached to has pictures on teh back showing the size.

Even if the sim you get isn't laser cut so you can pop the micro sim out of the middle, you can get a local phone shop to cut the micro sim out for a couple of £
