Which of these is the best?

Looking at new small cars, is there a great deal of difference between these three?
Volkswagen UP
Skoda Citigo
Seat Mii
They all seem to have pretty good reviews.
Which means they are all good, all will sell well and be in demand in the used car market, considering they are all VAG , I'm not sure what there is to decide, me personally I would pay the extra for the badge, however if you are happy with any of the cars and cost is an issue then go for the lowest price one. :cool:0 -
Also look at the Hyundai i10 great car 5 year warranty and rac cover

OP. Ask the dealers how much servicing is. Just because they are the same car doesn't mean dealers won't extract as much as they can come service time.
I suspect the Skoda will be cheapest in this regard. Skoda also get very good dealer reviews, which cannot be said for VW.
Oh and our Hyundai i20 was a complete bag of you know what, never again will I let a 5 year warranty be a deciding factor when buying a car.0 -
Melbury, you probably know but just in case not they are all fundamentally the same car, built I believe in the same factory. Take off enough bodywork and fittings and they are identical.
I'd probably go for the Skoda, but see what deals there are, what trim levels you want, and also look at future costs like servicing and insurance.0 -
There are a few cosmetic differences (like the Up has a glass rear door) and the trim levels vary but they are the same car so it's a case of seeing what's available and what takes your fancy.
I recently picked up a 12 reg Seat Mii SE, 14k, £6200, and I couldn't find anything locally with a VW or Skoda badge with the same spec for that price, so I've got it. I have to say that it's fun to drive, particularly around town. But you do have to get used to some quirks like the passenger window switch not being available from the driver's side, and a rear parcel shelf that stays up when you put the hatch down.
If you're buying new, Skoda have some good finance deals and the Citigo Sport seems popular even though there's no extra power.
The site that will be helpful to you is Briskoda, though they may be a bit biased!0 -

I was very interested in the i10, but on reading owners reviews it seems that the mpg is nowhere near the stated figure - in fact many people only seem to be getting around 40mpg:eek:Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -

I know that VW are tied in with Skoda, but didn't realize about SEAT!
That is interesting to know that they are basically the same car, so whichever I can get the best deal on will be it then:)
I wonder if spare parts on expensive for these.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
The following website it useful to give an idea of real-world mpg, which certainlly suggests that a Citigo would do better:

Although from a purely financial viewpoint you want to consider an difference in purhase price and what you likely mileage will be.0 -
The cars you are considering are better, but if you want something cheaper then also consider a Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1/Peugeot 107 (all basically the same car).0
